Dreamwidth questions

rhia_starsongSo, I've noticed that a lot of people are using Dreamwidth, and thought I'd give it a try. I'm a little confused about signing up for an account, though; how does one obtain a code to create an account? I really don't want to purchase an account; I already have a paid lj, guys. Does anyone have the scoop on this?
In other news, I just got back from a week and a half in Atlanta with the other set of parents, who are in the process of selling their house and moving to Alabama. Visited step-mom's family in Birmingham, which was a lot of fun, since her niece is totally as big a geek/fangirl as I am. We apparently were totally loud and conversation-monopolizing at dinner fangirling Torchwood, Doctor Who, Eureka, and other awesome fandoms. Fun times.

I've spent the past 7 months (ever since I was transferred) without internet access in my office computer, but this week it was finally installed. It doesn't compensate for my idiotic co-workers, though.
