dw invite codes and new hobbies
May. 29th, 2011 10:38 amThis is crossposted from dw-codesharing.dreamwidth.org/356536.html, where I have offered several invite codes. The first has already been used, but the rest are still up for grabs!
In other news, a few days ago, I was bored and found a cross-stitch kit I'd bought several years ago and never opened. So I decided to start on it. It's really pretty; two horses and some butterflies and flowers. It's going pretty well, especially since I went out yesterday to the craft store (before all the masses of people for both Saturday morning at the mall and race week at the speedway got going) and purchased an embroidery hoop, needle threaders, and these little cards to keep the threads separated and organised and labelled. Much faster now.
I ran into some snags yesterday, in which I learned that you can apparently never check the diagram too often. I had to pull out a bunch of stitches twice, and the thread got so thin after the second time that it broke. However, I persevered, and am enjoying myself.
