gender and such
Mar. 17th, 2007 09:28 amWow. I was just watching Horatio again (Loyalty), and at the part where Horatio is talking to M'man Hammond in his cabin before taking on the signal tower, when he tells the kid basically he should request a transfer and Hammond says, "With respect sir, no man in his right mind would avoid (war) who cared about his honour or reputation. Please, sir, take me with you." I thought, I'd like to write a paper on these movies, dealing with how they portray 18th and 19th century notions of gender roles. I think this seminar I'm taking is really getting to me this semester!
